Terms of Use

1.The app and your licence

BeGerman is licensed to you, not sold. You get a personal, non transferable licence to use it on devices you own, for your own learning.

Because BeGerman is distributed through the App Store, Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement also applies. Where these terms and Apple's EULA disagree, Apple's EULA wins.

You may not resell the app, redistribute its lesson content or audio, or try to extract them for use elsewhere.

2.Use it responsibly

BeGerman is a study aid, not a guarantee. It is built around the published formats of the Goethe, telc and TestDaF exams, but it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any of those organisations.

Mock exam scores are an estimate produced by this app. They are not an official result and they do not predict how you will do on the day.

Career track material is written for the exams named, but passing a real professional exam or gaining recognition of a qualification depends on the relevant authority, not on us.

3.BeGerman Pro

The app is free to download, and anyone can browse the course to see what every level and unit covers.

Lessons, career tracks, mock exams, the offline audio download and written feedback require BeGerman Pro.

4.Subscriptions and payment

• Pro is offered as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one time lifetime purchase.
• The annual subscription starts with a free trial. Its length is shown before you confirm. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription begins and is charged at the end of the trial.
• Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited if you buy a subscription during it.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, or when a free trial ends.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period, at the price shown at the time.
• You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID account settings at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not shorten the period you have already paid for.
• The lifetime purchase is a single payment and does not renew.
• Prices are shown before you buy and may change over time. A price change never affects a period you have already paid for.

5.Refunds

All purchases go through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple and not by us. Requests are made through Apple support or your purchase history.

We cannot issue, approve or refuse a refund on Apple’s behalf.

6.Your content and your progress

Anything you write in the app, such as answers to writing tasks, stays yours.

Your progress is stored on your device. On iPhone and iPad it also syncs through your own iCloud account so your devices stay in step. We never receive it.

Deleting the app removes the local copy. Copies held in your own iCloud or device backup are managed by you, in your device settings.

7.Disclaimer and liability

The app is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that its content is free of mistakes.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, including exam outcomes.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

8.Changes

These terms may be updated as the app changes. The date at the top shows the last revision, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
